Nancy Cranford is currently Vice President at Turknett Leadership Group, a Talent Management firm and a premiere resource for executive coaching, assessment, and leadership development. Nancy helps organizations with their strategic talent management needs so their leadership can learn to lead at an even higher level. She also enjoys helping the Turknett firm recognize leaders of character at their annual Leadership Character Awards, presented in partnership with the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. Nancy joined Turknett Leadership Group after more than 30 years of experience in the corporate arena, working for companies such as The Home Depot, Toys R Us, and Macy’s. She enjoyed a successful career developing the business partners she supported, working in stores, supply chain, and corporate office environments in both Human Resources and Operations roles.

At The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, as Manager, Advice and Counsel, Nancy provided guidance and counseling to field teams throughout the United States on a wide range of Employee Relations topics such as performance management, compensation, EEOC investigations, policy interpretation, employment law, sexual harassment and discrimination investigations, management practices, and conflict resolution. She promoted positive employee relations to enhance overall performance through strong partnerships with store teams, HR, Legal, and Loss Prevention. While at The Home Depot corporate office, Nancy received numerous awards for outstanding customer service, as well as the HR Business Partner Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit, after initiating and facilitating an on-going corporate “Lunch ‘n Learn” series that provided development and certification credits for Human Resources Managers.
While at Toys R Us, Nancy had multi-unit responsibility as the Regional Human Resources Manager for the Southeast. She held a generalist role with a focus on training and development, succession planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation, and management recruitment. Prior to joining the Human Resources Regional team, Nancy served as the Regional Loss Prevention Manager with responsibilities for training, shortage investigations, formulation and monitoring of policies and procedures, and loss analysis for the distribution center and stores within the southeast region.

Nancy’s career began at Macy’s in the Loss Prevention department where she quickly progressed to Senior Loss Prevention Manager directing all aspects of Loss Prevention and investigations for the flagship Atlanta location. It was at Macy’s that Nancy also gained valuable experience as a Senior Executive in supply chain, in both union and non-union facilities.

Nancy earned a B.S. degree in Criminology from Florida State University. She also holds the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification, as well as the Society for Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification.
