This program, designed for technical and other professional leaders, develops skills essential for leading in today’s global economy. Technical leaders/managers that have been identified as having high leadership potential or those who have recently entered into leadership positions will benefit from this fully integrated approach to leadership development. Program components are designed to complement one another and fit the needs of the individual, the team and the goals of the organization. Typical components include:

Assessment – The use of objective assessment and feedback is used to differentiate between technical competence and management and leadership competence. Each participant will receive extensive assessment of his or her leadership competencies and decision-making skills.

Guided Learning – The program typically includes Group Sessions that cover essential skills for all emerging leaders and Action Learning Projects.

Coaching – Each participant receives four to eight one-on-one coaching sessions with a TLG Senior Consultant, a leadership expert with an advanced degree in the behavioral sciences. During these sessions, participants review the results of their assessments and discuss applications of lessons learned in the group sessions. Expectations are clearly set for each participant to sustain new, more effective leadership behaviors.

Action Learning Projects – Our process takes an action learning approach – we help people learn and grow through their real time experiences. We look at the past experience – the context in which worldviews were established – and focus on the challenges at hand for learning. This approach fosters accelerated learning and rapid change.

Our Leaders Teaching Leaders process captures the experiences of senior executives and efficiently transfers their acquired wisdom to others. Enlisting the CIO or senior technical leader to transfer valuable knowledge and experience will create a forum for engaging feedback.
