kARL kUHNERT - Senior Research Fellow
Dr. Kuhnert is the Chair
of the Applied Psychology Program in the psychology department at
the University of Georgia. He received his doctorate in industrial
and organizational psychology from Kansas State University and his
undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
Over the past 15 years, Dr.
Kuhnert has authored over sixty professional articles, eleven book
chapters and made over fifty conference presentations. He teaches
organizational psychology, leadership development, and professional
ethics.
In 2005 Dr. Kuhnert was recognized
as the “Undergraduate Teacher of the Year” in the Department of
Psychology – his fourth award. He was recently inducted into UGA's
prestigious Teaching Academy. Dr. Kuhnert also serves as a member
of the American Psychology Board of Ethics.
In addition to his academic
accomplishments, Dr. Kuhnert is a sought-after management consultant.
Over his career he has designed and implemented leadership development
programs for a wide range of clients including: United Parcel Service,
The U.S. Department of the Treasury, USDA, and the Federal Reserve.
Dr. Kuhnert was a finalist for the 1997 Worldwide Organizational
Development Award for best O.D. project. In 2000, he was awarded
the Hammer Award for outstanding service to the federal government.
In 2003, Dr. Kuhnert joined the Turknett
Leadership Group as a Senior Research Fellow. His contributions
include the development of leadership programs for executives and
their teams based on Constructive Developmental Theory. Dr. Kuhnert
has extended this theory into the corporate world to help leaders
accelerate their development to higher levels of personal and organizational
effectiveness. Currently Turknett Leadership Group is the only company
in the country using this advanced approach, which is called Leadership
to the Fifth Level.
