January 26: “Purpose, Passion and Profit: The Ideal Work/Life Solution”– featuring Anita Sharpe & Sue McLaughlin of MOTTO Magazine (formerly Worthwhile). Ms. Sharpe is co-founder of MOTTO and a Pulitzer Prize-winning former writer for the Wall Street Journal and former editor of Atlanta Business Chronicle; Two time recipient of the Gerald Loeb Award, highest honor in financial journalism. Ms. McLaughlin is CEO of Dash30, Inc. and a former senior executive with AGL Resources, BellSouth, and Kodak. March 30: “Visionary Women: Lessons from Remarkable People” – Celebrating Women’s History Month with Stacey Mayo – Ms. Mayo, founder of the Center for Balanced Living, sought after consultant and speaker. April 27: “Executive Presence: Do You Have It? - featuring Paul Aldo, Ph.D. Founder & President of Integrated Performance Systems (IPS). Dr. Aldo, an expert in senior management communications and development as well as workplace performance, has worked with many of the F500. Prior to his consulting career, he led E&Y’s Mgmt. Consulting practice; held leadership positions with GE in the US and Asia-Pacific; was an adjunct faculty member at UVA in the McIntire School of Commerce. August 24: “Finding and Funding the Next Big Thing: More Women Needed” – featuring Kathy Harris, Senior Vice President, Noro-Moseley. One of only 800 females venture capitalists in the country and only a handful in the Southeast, Ms. Harris - a 2006 Atlanta “DIVA” - has definitely succeeded in a “man’s world.” A CPA by training, she focuses on finding early expansion and growth stage companies in healthcare services and technology industries. September 14: “Overcoming Adversity: An Extraordinary Journey” – featuring Sara Gonzalez, President & CEO, Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. October 19: “Corporate and Personal Philanthropy: The Call to Women” – featuring Ann Cramer, Director, IBM North America, Corporate Community Relations & Public Affairs. One of Atlanta’s most humble AND most respected leaders. Throughout her stellar career in business and community service, she’s received over 20 leadership awards (including “The Legacy of Leadership Award”); has served on more than 22 education and nonprofit boards and commissions in GA; and on 7 national boards. November 16: “Why We Need Women on the Bench” – featuring Carol Hunstein, Presiding Justice, Georgia Supreme Court. In 1984, she became only the 4th woman in the state to sit on the Bench in the Superior Court system and subsequently helped change the face of the judicial system forever. She became the first woman chosen as an officer and then President of the Council of Superior Court Judges and later, the second woman to sit on the state Supreme Court. Her many contributions include Chairing the GA Commission on Child Support, the Commission on Gender Bias and the Commission of Access and Fairness – among many others. Justice Hunstein will share her experience and perspective on issues of interest to all citizens and especially women.
