January 25: “What Men Can Learn from Women – featuring Jim Huling, CEO of Matrix Resources. Jim is gaining “ icon” status as a national speaker and author of a new book “Choose Your Life.” He’s led his company through tremendous growth and success, along with significant challenges while always remaining an exemplary leadership role model. Recipient of numerous awards including the Turknett Leadership Character Award, Great Place to Work, etc. What Jim does best is speak and lead from his heart and inspires others to do the same. February 29: “Leadership from the Inside Out ” – featuring Jacqueline Welch, VP – Employee & Org. Effectiveness, Rock-Tenn Co. She’s quickly becoming one of Atlanta’s most recognized and respected executives and civic leaders. A graduate of Leadership ATL, board member for PADV and BDN, Jacqui continues to be honored for her outstanding contributions to our city, as represented by the 2007 Women of Excellence Award and ATL. Woman Magazine’s “Most Powerful Women of 2007.” She’s also the Co-Chair of United Way’s Johnnetta B. Cole Society and…a devoted wife, mother of a toddler, and a leader wise beyond her years.

March 21: “Women of Power” – Celebrating Women’s History Month with Marie Mouchet, VP / CIO of Southern Co. Generation & CIO for Southern Nuclear & Southern Power, based in Birmingham, Al. She holds a masters degree in mathematics from GA State University. Internally and externally, Marie is recognized for her leadership and ability to get results across a broad spectrum of responsibilities. Among the honors she’s received: Woman of the Year in Technology Award (2007), Woman of Excellence by B2B Magazine, and in 2004, one of 14 women worldwide selected to participate in IWF’s Leadership Foundation Program.

May 23: “A Conversation with Georgia’s #1 Woman Business Owner” – featuring Marcia Taylor, President / CEO, Bennett International Group, Inc (BIG). Recognized locally and nationally among an elite group of entrepreneurs who’ve grown their companies to mega-dollar success, Marcia is a very strong individual with an incredibly inspiring story to share. Bennett is also a family business, including Marcia’s two sons and daughter, which makes for interesting work/life relationships. Known also for her community involvement, Marcia serves on various boards and fundraising campaigns. When she’s not in her Stockbridge office, you can find her on her Montana ranch – overseeing 11 international business units from there.

June 27: “Sexcess: The New Gender Rules at Work” featuring Candace Kaspers, Ph.D, co-founder of Gender Plus+, Inc. and co-author of the best selling book of the same title. A management consultant in Atlanta for over 20 years, she’s worked with corporate execs from coast to coast conducting communications audits, focus groups, interventions, coaching, teambuilding, and stress reduction programs. In addition, she’s been a university department chair and college professor. Her community involvement includes president of WBO/Atlanta chapter; president, Anti-Prejudice Consortium, and past board chair for the YWCA. No one has more credibility in the areas of diversity and gender issues than Dr. Candy Kaspers.

July 25: “From Legends to Real Life” - featuring Melissa Galt – businesswoman, speaker, acclaimed interior designer, consultant, and author of “Celebrate Your Life: The Art of Celebrating Everyday” and “Designing Your Signature Life.” On her way to achieve, she shows you how to become the architect of your own dreams. Her “legendary” background includes her great-grandfather, the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright; her mother, award-winning actress Anne Baxter, and her god-mother, Edith Head, the legendary costume designer.

August 22: “Global Leadership on a Local Level” - featuring Sylvia Anderson, President –AT&T Georgia. Sylvia’s responsibilities are broad and deep including all corporate legislative and regulatory matters for GA. She’s also considered the “face of the corporation” in the community and she serves in numerous leadership roles with the GA Cancer Coalition, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Allies, GA Partnership for Excellence in Education, Woodruff Arts Center and Atlanta Landmarks. A graduate of the Rutgers School of Law, she has been with AT&T since 1992. Join us to hear her views on what it takes to succeed in today’s complex global marketplace as well as her insights on women’s advancement in business.
September 26 : “Voicing Values and Change Leadership ” - featuring Dr. Terry C. Blum, Founding Director and Tedd Munchak Cahir, GA Tech's Institute for Leadership & Entrepreneurship;
Professor, GT College of Management (previously Dean for 7 years.) Dr. Blum earned her Phd from Columbia University and served on the faculty of Tulane. Her impact and credibility in the academic and business world are stellar and have earned her significant recognition, e.g., she has served on Stanford’s Roundtable on Eng. Entrepreneurship Education, Project Tsunami’s Global Brain Trust and GA Tech’s Economic Dev. Institute. Currently she serves on the boards of the Comm. October 24: “Changing Communities Through Purposeful and Dynamic Connection” featuring Alicia Philipp, President -Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, one of the largest philanthropic service organizations in the country. CFATL connects donors, nonprofits, & community leaders to make philanthropy happen. Considered one of the “100 Most Influential Atlantans,” Alicia has led CFATL for 30 years, growing it from $7M to $750M in assets. In 2007 along with Mayor Franklin, Alicia is credited and highly praised for taking on the complex, last minute project of acquiring the King Collection for our city. November 14: “Lessons from Life Times Two” – featuring Lynn Erdman, SVP American Cancer Society and her husband, David Erdman, Senior Partner, Erdman & Hockfield, from Charlotte, NC. She’s a nationally recognized speaker and a nurse by profession with impeccable credentials. He’s a lecturer and very successful attorney whose practice was recognized in 2007 as the top firm for women in NC. Together they have 2 daughters, 2 high-powered careers, significant community involvement and a zest for living a positive and purposeful life. December 19: “The DNA of a Technology Leader” – featuring Kelly Gay, former Chair/CEO/President of KnowledgeStorm and 2007-2008 President of the Board of Directors Network. Kelly’s highly respected in the ATL technology community starting from her days at IBM where she was VP – N. American Media & Entertainment. She’s been a “Top 50 Entrepreneur,” Who’s Who in Technology for 4 years, and an Atlanta Woman Magazine “Diva.” She has served on numerous boards including the Bank of Atlanta & the Technology Alliance of GA. She has a great story to share about growing and selling a business…and moving on.
