11/15/08: Susan Hitchcock, serves with other members of the CEO Netweavers Atlanta Chapter on a leadership panel as part of a training program for Junior Achievement Fellows. Over 80 students from across Metro Atlanta attended the training program as elected officers of their respective “companies.” JA Fellows was developed by Junior Achievement of GA in 2006 and is the premiere program for high school students seeking to get a head start in the world of business and entrepreneurship.

7/1/08: Lyn Turknett serves as a judge for the 2008 Women In Technology (WIT) Women of the Year awards event. Judges for WIT’s Women of Year Awards include technology and business leaders in Georgia and the nation. Women of the Year finalists participate in an interview conducted by an independent panel of judges comprised of Joan Herbig, Jim Huling, Tino Mantello, Elisabeth Marchant, Wendy Reed, Karen Robinson, Lyn Turknett and John Yates. There are three categories in which nominees can win: Emerging/ Small Organization; Mid-Market/ Medium Organization; and Enterprise Organization. 5/31/08: Garland & Susan Hitchcock and Lyn & Dr. Robert (B0b) Turknett attends the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Gala at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Turknett Leadership Group is a member of the GHCC. This extraordinary event not only raises funds for great work, but also honors the growth and success of the Hispanic business community in Georgia. With 1,000 in attendance, the Gala is the largest event reaching the Hispanic market in the state of Georgia. This year’s program includes a tribute to the late long-time GHCC President, Sarah Gonzalez. 5/27/08: Billy Hayes, CEO Category nominee for Turknett Leadership Group’s 5th Annual Leadership Character Awards and CEO of Northside Hospital Cherokee, will be featured in Lessons from a Leader, “Philosophies of a Healthcare Leader”. Billy Hayes brings 15 years of experience as a leader in service organizations and in the healthcare profession to the podium. He serves on numerous boards such as the Advisory Boards for Coles College of Business and the Siegel Institute at Kennesaw State University, and on Executive Committees for the KSU Alumni Association and A-DAY at Reinhardt College. The event takes place at the KSU Center, Room 400. 6:30 pm reception, 7:00 event.

5/2/08: Turknett Consultant in Abu Dhabi Dr. Barbara Reilly, senior leadership consultant with Turknett Leadership Group and management professor at Georgia State University (GSU), will teach in Abu Dhabi during the month of May, 2008. As part of an exchange program with the United Arab Emirate University, Dr. Reilly will be the first female professor GSU has ever sent. She will teach “Oganization Development and Change” to a group of male and female MBA students. Interestingly, while the class includes both genders, the students must be segregated in the classroom and must stop periodically to pray. To track her unique experiences with this special class, Dr. Reilly plans to keep a personal journal and share highlights upon her return.

4/08: Susan Hitchcock, VP Client Services and Executive Director – Turknett Leadership Group was recently recognized as a nominee for Mentor of the Year at a special program on April 15, 2008 hosted by Pathbuilders, Inc. (www.pathbuilders.com). Pathbuilders is an Atlanta-based organization specializing in mentoring programs for high-performance women in a variety of industries. Ms. Hitchcock has been a mentor for the past two years in the Achieve Program for mid-level managers and professionals with senior executive potential.

According to her mentee, “Susan is the embodiment of the word ‘mentor.’ Using her business expertise and straight-forward leadership style, she has helped me find solutions and navigate in uncharted waters in a multicultural work environment. 4/08: Atlanta Woman Magazine nominates Conchita Robinson for their prestigious Woman of The Year Award. Conchita Robinson, founder and CEO of C Robinson Associates, Inc. is also the third principle of Jacksonville, FL based Turknett Robinson Group, an executive management consulting firm formed by Robinson and Turknett Leadership Group’s Dr. Robert Turknett and Lyn Turknett. Featured on page 56 of the April 2008 issue of Atlanta Woman Magazine, Robinson discusses her path of rising through the ranks at IBM to now running her own management consulting firms. Robinson is a “true blue entrepreneur” and Turknett Leadership Group would like to formally congratulate her on her accomplishments and nomination.

4/8/08: Alicia Philipp, winner of Turknett Leadership Group’s Fifth Annual Leadership Character Award, has also been recognized by the Atlanta Women’s Foundation with their “Shinning Star Award”. Turknett Leadership Group would like to officially congratulate Alicia Philipp on all of her achievments.
