Queen Victoria

Queen Victoria was a very intelligent leader. Although she could have easily let older advisors influence her, she held her own until she reached 21. She believed in education and was able to make key decisions later in life from her knowledge.

She presided over a time of industrial expansion, educational advances, the abolition of slavery and workers’ welfare. And ruled for 63 years and 7 months.

The tv series on PBS “Victoria” is fascinating. I loved the book Victoria the Queen by Julia Baird.
