Amaris is currently an intern at Turknett Leadership Group. She is a senior Psychology major and Business Management minor at Agnes Scott College. After graduation she plans to attend graduate school for a master’s in Industrial and Organizational psychology. Her specific interests include talent management, organizational culture, motivation and leadership along with her passion for I/O in general.
Amaris is active in the Psychology Department at Agnes Scott. She is the chapter president of Psi Chi, a member of the Psychology and Neuroscience club and a teacher’s assistant for a capstone research course (Research in Industrial and Organizational Psychology). She volunteered as a research assistant for her professor, Dr. Jennifer Hughes, and had the opportunity to write and present her own research paper titled The Effect of Facebook Addiction on Employees. In April 2014, Amaris presented her research at the Georgia Undergraduate Research in Psychology Conference at Kennesaw State University as well as the Spring Annual Research Conference at Agnes Scott.
Aside from psychology, Amaris is very involved on campus. She is a tour guide, cheerleading captain, treasurer for Mortar Board (International Honor Society for College Seniors), and a member of Pi Delta Phi (International French Honor Society). She also served as the Orientation Council Director for Student Engagement. Outside of campus, Amaris participated in a faculty-led study abroad program to France and attended the Women’s Bridge to Business program at Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business. She also taught 7th grade Language Arts at The Lovett School for Breakthrough Atlanta, a summer academic enrichment program.
Amaris loves to spend time with family and friends, travel to the beach, mentor new students and enjoy the small things in life. Amaris is very excited to have the opportunity to intern at Turknett Leadership Group and gain more exposure to the field of I/O psychology.
