Vice President, Talent Solutions
Hope Sonam joined Turknett Leadership group in late 2019 as Vice President of Talent Solutions. She focuses on making connections with both current and prospective clients and providing them with tailored solutions that yield game-changing results for their specific goals. With five years of sales experience primarily focused on new business acquisition, Hope’s approach is simple: doing right by each client’s unique situation with the intended outcome of leaving them in a better place and with more tools in their toolbelt than when they were first introduced to Turknett Leadership Group.
As a native Atlantan, Hope attended Atlanta International School where she earned her I.B. diploma prior to attending Agnes Scott College where she received her B.A. in Psychology. She spent her first five years after college working as a professional singer/songwriter, even making the move to Nashville in 2013 to explore a publishing deal as her songs were being licensed for television and film. Due to various influences and a reassessment of longer-term dreams and goals, she chose to leave the music industry behind and accepted her first full time job in corporate America in early 2015 at age 27. Within her first six months on the job, she was moved from a marketing capacity into a sales role as her talent for making meaningful connections that yield successful business outcomes was identified by senior leadership. Over the next few years, Hope went on to serve as a top business development performer for various organizations in the Nashville area.
At the peak of her sales career, Hope was exceeding sales goals and outperforming her peers and yet personally, she had an unrelenting sense that something was missing. Through hiring and working with a coach, she identified that she desired to make more of a human impact related to developing people than she was currently doing by selling services and technologies. From this overwhelmingly positive coaching experience, she made the decision to enroll herself in an International Coaching Federation accredited coaching certification program alongside her current job and become a coach herself. This was the first time in her corporate career where she felt like she was on to something in alignment with her “why”, much like the music that used to nurture her soul. She went on to become certified in the Judgment Index assessment and balance both her work and side hustle of coaching.
Hope made the decision to return to Atlanta in late 2018 to plant roots back home near her family. While working and resettling in Atlanta, she crossed paths with a representative from Turknett Leadership Group at a SHRM Atlanta event and as they say, the rest is history. Upon coming on board, Hope wrote, “I feel as though meeting the team at Turknett Leadership Group and being invited to come on board is one of the most divinely orchestrated things that has happened to me in a long time. I’m excited to offer my talents in service of our shared mission and help change the lives of leaders and organizations globally.” And today, she does just that.
Hope lives in Virginia Highland with her dog and enjoys weekend getaways to her family’s lake house at Lake Burton. She is passionate about serving various women’s organizations, the creative community, humanitarian rights organizations and young professional development.
