ATLANTA, GA, – Turknett Leadership Group (TLG) is excited to announce that Tino Mantella, President & CEO, has received the inaugural ATP Connector Award. This award, presented by Atlanta Technology Professionals, recognizes individuals in the technology industry who connect others and help drive business, community, and social change through professional networking. This award is in memory of Dan Webber, a significant contributor to the Atlanta Technology Community who exemplified these attributes and qualities. The award was presented to Tino on Thursday, November 10th, at the awards gala.
“It was a great honor to be the first recipient of the Connector Award,” explained Tino. “I knew Dan Webber well. He was a connector extraordinaire. More importantly, the pay-it-forward credo was in his soul. He wanted to help people in a multitude of ways. He enriched many lives. In accepting the award, I wanted the audience of over 500 to hear his message through me. That is, you only have one life to live and giving back is the best way to live it.”
Tino has been a part of the technology community in Atlanta for more than two decades – leading the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) as its President & CEO from 2004 to 2016. It was there he helped to grow TAG from 350 members to over 36,000. TAG, during that era, played a critical role of putting Georgia’s tech industry on the national map, helping lead the way in establishing Georgia as a beacon for Technology in the United States.
Since coming to Atlanta, Tino has used his network, expertise, and love for giving to impact the tech community in a big way. As a prolific networker, Tino has always worked to connect others to drive forward progress. Tino has continually leveraged his leadership capabilities to grow collaboration and innovation within his sphere of influence.
In 2018, two years after his involvement at TAG, Tino was tapped to become the President & CEO of Turknett Leadership Group (TLG) after being approached by Robert (Bob) and Carolyn (Lyn) Turknett. Inspired by Tino’s track record and his exemplary leadership, it was an easy choice for Bob and Lyn to make. Despite making the transition from non-profit to for-profit, Tino continued right where he left off – leveraging his powerful network and leadership to lead TLG into a new era of growth. Despite leaving the non-profit world, Tino feels like he is still doing the same type of work through TLG.
“TAG was a tremendous experience,” said Tino. “It was a launch pad for me to help to grow the company and the industry while having a platform to serve others.”
Since becoming President & CEO at TLG, Tino has remained heavily involved in the technology community and continues to give back in many ways. He sits on the board of directors at Tech Alpharetta and Atlanta Technology Professionals and is a Partner with Tier4 Advisors and Tier4 group, in addition to serving on several not-for-profit Boards. Tino calls his life’s work “occupational bliss”. Mantella says that he has been able to tie his leadership skills to giving back. “There is nothing better”, in Tino’s words.
