Karl Kuhnert, PhD

Senior Research Fellow

Dr. Karl Kuhnert is a professor in psychology and Program Chair of the Industrial and Organizational Psychology Program at the University of Georgia. He teaches organizational psychology, leadership development, and professional ethics. Karl has worked with TLG for almost a decade, and his contributions include the foundation of a leadership program to help executives accelerate their development and achieve higher levels of personal and organizational effectiveness. 

Over the past 20 years, Karl has authored over 80 articles, 13 book chapters and made over 150 conference presentations. Karl was awarded UGA’s Department of Psychology’s Teacher of the Year Award four times, most recently in 2007. He is a member of the prestigious UGA Teaching Academy and is a member of the American Psychological Association Review Board of Ethics. 

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Karl is a sought-after management consultant. Over his career, he has designed and implemented leadership development programs for a wide range of clients including United Parcel Service, The U.S. Department of the Treasury, USDA, the Federal Reserve, Siemens, Auto-Trader, and The American Cancer Society. Karl also teaches quarterly in the Emory Business School and UCLA’s Executive Education Programs. 

Karl received his doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from Kansas State University and his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University.
