TLG President & CEO
I am a Seth Godin fan. Godin is more than a marketing guru; he is a deep thinker with quotes that can challenge the ready reader to do more and be more.
Godin’s motivational messages can fill pages and pages. Here is one that I feel relates strongly to the work of TLG:
“Selling ice cream on the beach in the summer is easy. Raising people’s expectations, engaging in their hopes and dreams, helping them see further – that’s the difficult work we signed up for.” – Seth Godin
Frankly, I don’t know how easy it is to sell ice cream on the beach in the summer, but it sure sounds like it would have been a fun college gig. With that said, the business of TLG’s coaches and consultants is all about helping people become their best selves. Our work challenges us to challenge others. We aspire to motivate each client – to stretch them and help them get as close as possible to reaching their hopes and dreams. We encourage them to see beyond who they are today – to dream, prepare, practice, and do – leading to who they can become tomorrow.
As CEO, I don’t have the pleasure of hearing what transpires in the confidential conversations between coach and client. However, I have read countless testimonials that reinforce that our work is deeply meaningful.
Most of my career has been in the non-profit lane. TLG is not a non-profit, but our desired results are similar. We strive to make lives more fulfilled for every person we touch, and that’s why I love my job.
